About JLGR

The Junior League of Grand Rapids, a nonprofit organization established in 1925, is committed to developing women leaders and improving women’s health and development in our community.  We are part of a powerful volunteer force that includes 140,000 women in 291 Junior Leagues across four countries. 

Mission: The Junior League of Grand Rapids is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Junior League Wellness Adventure Yard

The JL W.A.Y. goal is to increase access to play for children in Grand Rapids by introducing a healthy lifestyle concept through the implementation of professionally-developed local play environments.  These Wellness Adventure Yards give children the opportunity to practice goal setting, build confidence, and explore concepts of cooperation and teamwork through inclusive equipment and uniquely designed spaces.
